SUPERIOR — The Mission/Charlo wrestling team placed second at the Superior divisional tournament, right behind Arlee, with 167.5 points and will send 11 grapplers to state.

Coach Doran DuMont had this to say about his wrestlers:

"Jon Morton has wrestled well all year long. He is still improving throughout the year and I look for Morton to place in the state tournament this year. Morton is a sophomore this year and I expect to see him to return to state in the next two years.

"This is Josh Christiansen's third year of wrestling. Christiansen had a very good divisional tournament in Superior. By placing second this year, Josh will be one of the outstanding wrestlers coming up and will be a big help to the team in years to come. I hope that he will place in the top six this year at state.

"At 119, Johnnie Dillard is a returning divisional placer and placed this year. Dillard is a sophomore that I look to have more success in wrestling, and I think he shall be able to place in the top six this year at state.

"Devin Bauer, 130, is a very exciting freshman who is having a very good year. With a little more hard work out of him and Christiansen, they will improve more throughout their careers in wrestling to help the team have more success. I look to have Bauer place this year at state.

"Craig Wheeler has improved a great deal this year. He will be one of the leaders on the team for next year, but this year I look for Wheeler to be placing in the top six at state.

"Buck Henry at 140 has also improved tremendously this year. I think Henry can place at state if he works to his potential.

"Jordan Rohrich, at 145, is another very good freshman who I look to be a leader on the team throughout his wrestling career. Rohrich is one of the hardest working freshman this year. Rohrich is in a tough weight class with a lot of good wrestlers, but Rohrich can compete well with the upperclassman. I hope to see Rohrich get into the top six.

"Jake Bosley has been a leader on the team all of his wrestling career. Bosley is a senior this year and helped lead the team to state. Bosley is part of the heart and soul of the team. I look to see him place in the top four at state.

"Brian Mitchell is also a senior who has been one of the leaders on the team. Mitchell is also a big part of the team leaders with Bosley and Ray Matt. I look for Mitchell to be in the top six at state.

"Grant Anderson a junior who has done well this year he had a good divisional tournament and I look for him to do well this year and look for him to be a leader next year and place a little higher.

"Big Ray Matt is a senior this year out of Charlo. Big Ray has been a good leader for the team this year. Big Ray is a divisional placer from last year and has placed higher this year. Matt has been the other part of the heart and soul of the team and I hope to see him to place in the top six at state. He has worked hard in these four years of high school wrestling.

"By taking 11 wrestlers to state this year we are hoping to place high in the team standings as well as bring some placers home with us this year. We are looking to have some good success at state."

The Mission/Charlo wrestling team heads to Billings this weekend.
