Customers must be treated courteously
Editor,
This past weekend I ordered flowers for my recovering wife from a local florist. When they arrived they were not particularly fresh and on Monday I called the store to see what could be done. My call was treated with disdain, I was treated rudely and "other business" was the curtly stated reason the lady needed to hang up.
If this business had a monopoly it could succeed continuing such activity. But this represents why competition in the market place is a good thing. Any business survives not on its size or location, but on its product and customer service. I will no longer patronize this store.
If my treatment and reaction is unique it will likely make no difference to the store. But if it was not, and it ceases operation, I'm sure the owners will wrongly place the blame elsewhere.
