Oliver Miller Bones

POLSON — Oliver Miller Bones, 82, of Ronan and formerly of Polson died of natural causes at his home in Ronan on Tuesday, February 7, 2006.

He was born on July 21, 1923, at Shamrock, Texas, to Walter and Lana Smith Bones. He lived in Texas, Colorado, and Oklahoma.

He married Opal Leona Means and farmed in Oklahoma until 1965, before moving to the Mission Valley farming and ranching in St. Ignatius. They moved to Polson in 1968 and owned Price's Good Foods Restaurant for 13 years. Oliver worked at the Lake County courthouse until he retired. He loved working with horses and going to rodeos.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother Georgia; his wife Opal in December 2005; sister Bernice Bones, and brother Ray Bones.

Surviving are his daughter Gwen Nelda Bones of Ronan; a son Stan and wife Janet Bones of Bigfork and two grandchildren, Mac and Jodie.

No services are planned at this time and cremation has taken place. Arrangements were under the direction of Grogan Funeral Home and Crematory, Polson.
