Kayser benefit response gratifying
Editor,
There is no way to fully express the gratitude felt by the Kayser family and the benefit committee, to this outstanding community for its support of Peggy Kayser's benefit. Not only did the benefit net an incredible amount of money for the family's expenses but as importantly, it channeled a flood of love and concern to a tremendous family in need. No wonder these relative newcomers to the valley feel that they've "come home."
Huge kudos to Safeway and Super One for donations of food for the benefit, Jackie M's, Quinn's, The Cove, First Resort, Art Forms, Rowley Lighting, Valley Business Supply, Alpine Products and the Terrace Flower Shop for their generous contributions to the silent auction. Of course nothing could happen without countless volunteers and enthusiastic participants to whom we give the ultimate applause.
As a side note, when money was stolen from the benefit, it unleashed an amazing result. People, of course, voiced outrage and anger. It was however the woman who demanded anonymity, who defined the true meaning of home, by quietly replacing that dollars to the fund from her own pocket. These are the people we can proudly call neighbors, fellow citizens and friends. We are proud to live in your midst.
Thank-you all
