No 'donor fatigue' noted here
Editor,
The Salvation Army thanks the citizens of Lake County for supporting the 2005 Kettle Bell Ringing campaign. In the prior year, we raised $12,000. Due to your generosity, we had a record breaking season. Our goal of $15,000 was surpassed by over $1,000. The amount of $16,023.84 was raised in 32 days.
A special thank you to the following businesses includes: First Interstate Bank, Polson Work Force Center, local newspapers and radio stations, Harvest Foods, Super One and Wal-Mart. I especially thank the community-spirited individuals — the bell ringers — who pulled through for a very cold campaign.
Finally, most fortunately, the two people helping with every aspect of this operation and standing by my side, my parents, Skip and Ruthann Schacher.
After presiding over the campaign for the past four years, I was worried about "donor's fatigue." With so many people all over the world needing so much this year, what a joy it was to see the charitable contributions within Lake County. Summer camp, emergency assistance for fuel, utilities, food, rent, clothing are just a few of the services provided for our community.
Your giving hearts have made so much more possible for this coming year. Thank you, Lake County.
