John Jay Huntley, Sr.

KINGMAN, Ariz. —John Jay Huntley, Sr., 68, died at his home in Kingman on Jan. 4, 2006.

Jay was born March 15, 1937 in Big Arm to S. Katherine (Gram) and Harry Bruce Huntley, Sr. When he started school after the family moved to Elmo, it was in the same school house that his mother had attended.

He served in the Air Force from October 1954 to August 1958 and was stationed at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Great Falls. He and Mabel Iris Kenney were married in Great Falls on July 15, 1955 and were later divorced.

Jay and Carloyn Jean Dixon were married in 1965 in Cut Bank.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Karen, his parents, Katherine and Bruce Sr. and his bother-in-law, John P. Scott.

He is survived by his wife Carloyn at the family home; daughters Barb Young and Lisa Atkinson; son John Jay Jr.; two granddaughters; five grandsons; a great-grandson a great-granddaughter; two sisters, Dorla Scott of Ronan and Dorothy (Harry) Fishel of Washougal, Wash.; five brothers, Jasker in

Texas, Bruce Jr. and wife Sharron of Kalispell, Nathan of Polson, Howard and Rosie in West Virginia, and George and Sandi of Polson; and all of his nieces and nephews.

Jay's ashes were scattered by plane in Arizona over the Hualapai mountains that he had come to love.
