Make sure kids have lunch

| January 27, 2006 12:00 AM

Editor;

We are writing today, for the kids in our community to remind everyone that we are the role models for our children and all of the children we encounter. Parents and guardians, please pay attention to how your children are doing. Listen to them, find out how they are doing in school, and let them know that they are taken care of.

It is our duty as parents to make sure they are healthy, happy and fed. Kids may soon be turned away for hot lunch due to overdrawn accounts. It doesn't make any sense to humiliate our kids for something we may have overlooked as parents.

The kids should, in no way, be held responsible for overdrawn lunch accounts. It is our duty as parents to make sure that they are able to make it through their day as successfully as possible.

Giving them a good lunch helps them perform better in school and life in general. Contact the school to make arrangements if needed. There are reduced and free lunches available by filling out a simple form.
