Bread Basket says thanks for donations

The Bread Basket in Ronan has received two wonderful gifts again. First, the area postal carriers gathered in 1,008 lbs. of food in the month of June. People in the rural areas of Ronan, Pablo, Charlo and Moiese donated food staples and placed them by their mail-boxes. The food was then picked up by the postal carriers and delivered to the Ronan Bread Basket.

Ronan donated 473 lbs.; Pablo 170 lbs.; Charlo/Moiese 365 lbs. What a generous outpouring of food from our valley community to help the needy families.

Second blessing, was a check for $800 from the Diocese of Helena Catholic Church Aid to the Needy Program. This financial help will be used to purchase more staples of food to enhance the baskets of food given out to the families.

The food pantry continues to feed the less fortunate through out the summer. With children home from school, more food is needed. We strive to fulfill this need. The average number of families coming into the Bread Basket is about 140.

To all of you that help the Bread Basket with food or money, we give our heartfelt thanks.
