Another beautiful hometown Saturday Night graced the Mission Valley Speedway last weekend. Ronan Power Products sponsored the action packed evening, which featured the Pepsi Super Stocks, Budweiser Bombers, Bomber 4's, and the ever so popular burn-out contest. Smoke was thick and the smell of burning rubber filled the air during the contest. After all the vehicles had burned up their tires the crowd went to work cheering for their favorite burn-out car and driver. In the end Joe Pierce, driving a Dodge D-50 Ram, took top honors.

At the start of the evening the electronic timing computer that is used to time the car as they cross the start/finish line was inoperable and race officials had to dust off a pair of old stopwatches to qualify the drivers.

The Supers took to the track, with #4 Alvin Brester, taking the fast time. In the trophy dashes, #10 Dennis Dumont, took the A dash win and #8 Chuck Morigeau came out on top with the B dash win. During the 20-lap heat race #10 Dennis Dumont, #3 Justin Drake, and #4 Alvin Brester battled it out for first place. With three laps to go #24 Jon Blixt got loose in turn one and slid sideways. #8 Chuck Morigeau was running strong behind Blixt and had no place to go when Blixt got loose and spun. Morigeau struck Blixt's car, causing Blixt to land on the dirt berm near turns one and two. Morigeau emerged from his car unhurt, but his car didn't fare so well in the crash. Jon Blixt emerged from his car and had to be checked out by the EMT staff, was transported to the pit area and released. The race resumed, but Dumont and Drake did not have time to catch Brester, and Brester motored across the finish line to win the heat race. With #4 Alvin Brester coming into the night in first place in points he was a strong contender to sweep the evening. The 30-lap main rumbled to life at the end of the evening. Challengers, #10 Dennis Dumont and #21 Chuck Weich were unable to catch #4 Alvin Brester. Brester continued his winning streak, by taking the checkered flag.

The Budweiser Bombers rumbled to life with time trials. #66 Wes Miljies ran away with fast time for the evening. Then, in the trophy dash Miljies again capitalized on first place and came away with the win. The Bombers rock and rolled onto the track for their main event feature. #33 Richard Lozeau and #69 Steve Kelly battled it out with #66 Miljies, but Miljies had luck on his side for the evening and came away with the main event win.

Bomber 4 action was red hot Saturday evening. #68 John Sterret took fast time. #16 Corey White Jr. ran away from #77 Joe Pierce to take the trophy dash win. White's luck continued on into the heat race as he took the win. In the main event #13 Reese Middlemist, #16 Cory White Jr., and #68 John Sterret battled it out. Reese and White were unable to pry the win away from Sterret. Sterret crossed the finish line and grabbed his trophy.
