Buy cattleguard or return it

To the three gentlemen who were loading the steel pipe cattleguard into the Ford pickup above the Pablo Feeder Canal on Cheff Lane last Wednesday, June 14: I was in the blue Toyota pickup on my way to work when you saw me and I saw you.

At the time, I didn't realize my father-in-law had not authorized you to take the cattleguard. We think that perhaps you thought the cattleguard was abandoned. It was not. We appreciate the effort you have expended loading such a heavy object by hand and suspect that you must have a real need for it.

If so, we will sell it for what it cost. Otherwise, if you would simply return it, no questions will be asked and the sheriff's office will not be notified. Call me at 644-4454.
