Outside advice isn't needed
Editor,
I read with interest about recent Polson council meetings and come away confused. Who are calling the shots, Ronan or Polson residents? I read the Polson council has agreed to adopt a growth policy and hold public hearings on June 29 — "with a few adjustments." One would assume these adjustments are those suggested to the council by Carolyn Beecher of Ronan, along with substantial impact fee increases suggested by Polson resident and head of Lake County First, Greg Hertz.
I believe this to be the same Carolyn Beecher of Ronan who recently questioned the enforcement abilities of the Polson police and raised doubt on their ability to handle increased crime, which might occur should a Wal-Mart supercenter be built in Polson. This indictment of the Polson police has absolutely zero validity and is merely another feeble effort by Ms. Beecher to thwart Wal-Mart. She and Lake County First are still tilting at windmills. Come on, let's listen to our Polson residents. I don't think we are so naive that we need to look elsewhere for advice.
