Roger D. Spotted Eagle

HEART BUTTE — Roger D. Spotted Eagle, 51, went to be with the Ancestors on Tuesday, June 13, in Great Falls.

Born in Cut Bank on April 23, 1955, to Theodore "Teddy" and Edith (Rutherford) Spotted Eagle, He was raised on the Blackfeet Reservation. Roger went on to receive a degree in Education and taught school in Browning and Dixon (Two Eagle High School) where he also coached basketball. Most recently, he was living in Cut Bank with his partner Laurel Gray.

He enjoyed being a cowboy at heart and was proud of his ancestry.

Preceding him in death was his father, his grandparents and a stepdaughter, Whitney.

He leaves behind his partner Laurel of Cut Bank; his mother Edith of Heart Butte; brothers Glen, Keith, Emeril and Ivan, all of Heart Butte; his children, Kenny (Michelle) Spotted Eagle of Charlo, Letisha Spotted Eagle of Bellingham, Wash., and Wes Bremner of Heart Butte, three grandchildren and a large extended family.

Mass was held at 11 a.m. in St. Anne's Catholic Church in Heart Butte on Saturday. Interment was in the Spotted Eagle cemetery.
