Don't take freedoms for granted
Editor,
I'm writing to say thank you to two young boys who put it upon themselves to make a memorial to our servicemen and women who have fought and are fighting and who are wearing the uniforms of our country. They are to be commended for their efforts and dedication to our fighting men and women.
Do we have a memorial for all our Montana men and women who have served our country? If not, we should, as it because of them we have the freedom we take for granted.
The people who can demonstrate and run our country down, who trash our flag, who turn it upside down, who don't want to fight for this country but like the freedom that others have fought and died for, they should get down on their knees and thank God for these servicemen and women.
I come from a family of men and women who have served our country courageously and without complaining — my husband Dan Lovell, our son Daniel D. Lovell; my granddaughter Barbara Estelle Miller; my brother-in-in-law Donald Williams, his stepson Toddy Layton (my sister LaVonne's son); my sister Alice's husband David; my sister Barbara's husband Kenneth Trotter and their sons Kenneth Jr. and Roy Allen; my sister Cheri's husband Dennis Pierce and their son Ryan; my sister Maxine's husband Tom Sebastin; my sister Becy Collins' son Mike; my uncles Robert and William Shoupe (my Dad's half-brothers).
So, people, unless you have put on that uniform and carried a gun or have driven one of the vehicles of our armed forces, don't complain about or tear down something you have not earned.
