Wal-Mart's proposed supercenter would be beneficial
Editor,
Our society is driven by "money." I love to shop at Wal-Mart supercenters. A trip to Missoula is well worth it when you are on a fixed income, which is not very much.
Granted, there may be some impact on some store owners — just as there was an impact on the "Mom and Pop Corner grocery stores" when the big supermarkets arrived on the scene.
People who can afford to oppose it are not the ones on fixed incomes.
A few self-interest people and those who just can't stand change, whether it's for the good of the masses or not, are the ones who oppose the supercenters.
More jobs, lower prices, strong community support are some of the benefits of having a supercenter. I'm tired of the few mouthy people in this world who seem to get all the publicity, while the silent majority fails to speak up.
Most of us would rather go about our business and live our lives peacefully, but it's getting to the point that too many radical, liberals are getting their way because of the silent majority's apathy.
Wal-Mart gets three votes from this household, and a lot more from our extended families.
