What do Polson and Ronan offer?

| June 29, 2006 12:00 AM

Editor,

In regards to the proposed super Wal-Mart in Polson, I am for it 100 percent, as many in my area are. The people in Polson and Ronan, especially the merchants, are against the store for one reason only, greed.

The old saying goes "the ones who have money want more." I realize there are many wealthy people in the Polson area and they don't care what they have to pay for groceries, but why should the local people who support Super 1 and Safeway the year around have to? Myself and two of my neighbors who have families go to Missoula to Wal-Mart at least once a month.

We buy our groceries, meats, beverages, clothing, toiletries, miscellaneous items for the home and outside. I save $5 a month just on the yeast that I buy.

We always see several people from the valley there shopping, especially around Christmas and before school starts. What do the stores in Polson and Ronan have to offer the working man or woman who has to buy clothes for work that they can afford?

What do Polson and Ronan have to offer people who have to buy clothes and personal items for their children going to school? What about the students going off to college? They need clothes, toiletries, items for their dorm or apartment. Absolutely nothing.
