Writer will still shop in local stores

Editor,

Regarding Wal-Mart's request for rezoning, in order to build a supercenter. I have lived here for 30 years and there have been many zone changes in that time, and I hope there are many more to come.

It has been exciting to see Polson grow. The town that I was raised in is dying, because there have been no changes, other than the loss of jobs. A town is like anything else, either it goes forward or it dies.

I hope that Polson continues to go forward. If you want to live in a town that is getting smaller, go to eastern Montana. I urge the Polson city council to vote with the majority of the residents in Lake County and approve new zoning to allow a supercenter to progress. We need the extra shopping in Polson.

I am getting to the age that I don't care to drive to Kalispell or Missoula. I have always shopped locally and I will continue to do so when I can. I would like to see a business environment where our young people could make a living in Montana and stay here, if that be their wish.

Good Luck to Polson.

Willette Tamcke
