Sara Mae Gould McDowell

NEWPORT, Ore. — Sarah Mae Gould McDowell, 74, of Newport died of natural causes March 12, 2006.

She was born to John Gould and Mary (Montana Scott) Gould on July 4, 1931, in Polson. She attended school in Valley View.

She married Leonard McDowell in Missoula on Aug. 22, 1947.

Sarah, Leonard and their son operated McDowell's Automotive.

She enjoyed family and the most valuable part of her life was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was fond of many types of flowers, never forgot birthdays and enjoyed her coffee hour with her friends.

Surviving are her husband Leonard McDowell of Newport; daughter Mary Ann Fieber and son-in-law Tom Fieber of Polson; daughter Laura Lee Klint of Newport; son Lucky McDowell of Newport; brothers Bobby Gould, Arthur Gould, both of Polson; grandchildren Shon, John Katie, Megan, Chad and Cord; and great-grandchildren Liam and Hannah.

The funeral was held March 15 at Bateman Funeral Home in Newport. Memorials may be made to Samaritan Pacific Hospice.
