Larson would be a good sheriff

| May 18, 2006 12:00 AM

Editor,

I write this unsolicited letter to help draw attention to the sheriff's election campaign. As we are all aware, Lake County is experiencing an impressive surge of growth in population. While this is true, all of the components that attracted each one of us here are still in place and can remain in place.

The sheriff's department in any given county is considered a powerful position in local government due to its inherent scope of responsibility. Because of this fact, I would like to introduce to those citizens unaware, a gentleman of courage, conviction, and honesty who is running for the office of sheriff. His name is Lucky Larson.

Lucky is a devoted husband of 21 years with two lovely children, a veteran, college educated, volunteer (particularly with our young adults), and a committed law enforcement officer of 15 years for the Lake County Sheriff's Department. Lucky possesses inherent common sense, kindness and fairness. He is tough, kind and a leader; an individual that will make the citizens of Lake County proud and a sterling example to his staff in providing fair and honest law enforcement to the citizens of Lake County.
