Family appreciates Sheriff Barron's professionalism

Our family suffered a tragedy in October 2003 when our daughter was raped by two young men at a house party in Ferndale.

Were it not for the professionalism and tenacity of Sheriff Bill Barron and his department, especially the late Detective Andy Cannon, our daughter would have likely never seen justice in this terrible assault.

Aside from the determination and good hard police work supervised by Sheriff Barron, he extended to our daughter and family an overwhelming compassion during our time of hardship.

Sheriff Barron persisted and was instrumental in helping us bring our case to the Montana Attorney General's Office for a successful prosecution.

Sheriff Barron really cared about our daughter and for that, he has our unending appreciation. Whenever we needed his support or advice and, yes, sometimes a shoulder to cry on, Bill was glad to meet with us or take our call. His accessibility and open door to the public is a gift that cannot be measured. We know, he was there for us.

We are blessed to live in a place so beautiful but when evil finds its way into our lives, we are further blessed to have Sheriff Bill Barron as a champion for crime victims.

Sheriff Barron is running for re-election in the upcoming June 6 vote. I sincerely hope that the voters remember his hard work and return him for another term.
