Ad was not intended as an attack

| May 31, 2006 12:00 AM

Editor,

I am writing this letter to apologize to you and anyone else that may have been offended by my campaign ad. It was never intended to be an attack on Lucky's ability to protect our youth. I would trust my own grandchildren's lives to him.

I would never intentionally attack Lucky. I drove out to his home and visited with him when I realized some people took the ad as an attack. He knows it was not intended this way. We are friends and no matter who wins we will stay friends.

I make numerous decisions affecting this office everyday. One of my decisions was to make Lucky a Sergeant for the School Resources Officers. My supporters advised against this because it would hurt me politically. I did it because it was the right thing to do. I do what is best for the citizens of this county, not me personally.

Again, I sincerely apologize for the way my ad was interpreted. If you know me and my heart, you know I am not that way.
