Ralph H. Tew

| May 31, 2006 12:00 AM

Ralph H. Tew died May 20, 2006. "The Ralph," as he was lovingly known by his family, was a genuine United States Navy WW II hero, having received a Purple Heart in battle when his aircraft carrier was destroyed in the Pacific.

Ralph knew no stranger, and he was loved by all who knew him. Nobody could spin a fish story like Ralph, and nobody loved a good joke more. And, he could fix absolutely anything, from cars to can openers.

Ralph is survived by his loving daughter, Sandie Carnahan, and her husband Mike; his nephew Cliff Tew and niece Darlene Blair, and wife, Ailene.

The family wishes to express its deep appreciation to Ralph's good friends, Don and Judy Cooper, and to Dr. Cara Harrop and the staff at St. Luke's Ronan, who cared for him with love and compassion until his last day.

Ralph will be interred in Brookings, Ore. at the Ward Cemetery, next to his loving wife of 40 years, Valera L. Tew. The family respectfully requests a private prayer for "The Ralphi" and that any donations be made to the Western Montana Chapter for the Prevention of Elder Abuse, P.O. Box 17800, Missoula, MT 59808.
