Sluti family tells of Barron's efforts

In the spring of 2001 your sheriff, Bill Barron, was instrumental in gaining the release of my daughter, Anne Sluti, from a violent criminal who had abducted her from her hometown of Kearney, Neb. Sheriff Barron called every action and did everything correctly in gaining Anne's release.

I credit the professionalism of Sheriff Barron and the deputies of the Lake County Sheriff's Office with the return of my daughter.

Sheriff Barron and his deputies were awarded a national award as a result of solving this case. It is no accident that the Lake County Sheriff's staff are so proficient in what they do. It is a direct reflection of the leadership of your sheriff. Sheriff Barron is up for reelection as your sheriff. I would hope that you will vote to retain Bill as sheriff.
