That is not the American way

I am a strong advocate for the concept of free enterprise here in America, and especially in this area of Montana where we live and shop.

On May 9, while attending the Wal-Mart hearing, it was apparent by the number of negative comments from persons who got up from the audience to speak that my views, be they noble, are not shared by all by any means.

So my question to the Wal-Mart dissenters is, what part of the right to exist by honest American business is reviling enough to you that you can in good conscience stand in front of the rest of us with your vocal No votes, and your thumbs down, yet at home proudly fly and salute our flag? Assuming you do.

I personally resent that … you are telling us all who are in favor of the store's new shopping opportunities, that we and our views don't count for anything, and that we must take our shopping list with us as we continue our long regular trips north and south to spend our dollars.

This is wrong by you nay saying folks.

If the Polson Planning department and our city council come forth with a negative decision, we will be very disappointed, but we will learn to live with it even though that decision will smack heavily as an act of "protection" and that to me is not the American way, last time I checked.
