Elect commissioners by district

I strongly urge all Lake County voters to vote to approve the county ballot issue number 2. (On the ballot this will appear as "Lake County Plan of Government #2").

If passed, this will change the method of electing county commissioners from the present "at large" method to election of the commissioners by district.

Since 1986, in four counties the at large method of electing Montana county commissioners has been challenged in federal courts. In all cases, the counties have been ordered to adopt district election of commissioners. Several hundred thousands of dollars of taxpayer money was spent and all four counties ended up with district elections. This is not a good use of our very limited county revenue — your tax dollars.
