Schulz saved their frozen food supply

Editor,

Last month, my family experienced the best of "home town service."

At 7 p.m. on a Sunday evening, I discovered that our big chest freezer wasn't working properly. A few packages showed signs of thawing.

Frantic, we tried to locate a substitute appliance. By 7:30, it was apparent that we would need to buy a replacement.

Facing the prospect of racing to Kalispell in an attempt to beat store closures, we decided to try to contact local merchants. Since we have purchased appliances from Schulz Refrigeration in the past, I phoned the home number for Dick Schulz. Mr. Schulz was extremely gracious even though I had interrupted his evening meal. He readily agreed to meet us at his store within 30 minutes.

Not only did Mr. Schulz help us pick out a new freezer, but he volunteered to immediately deliver it to our house. Because of his kindness, we did not incur any food loss, didn't have to make a harrowing drive out of town, and didn't have to wrestle with unloading a large appliance by ourselves.

It's great to know that there are people like Dick Schulz in this valley. Polson and the Mission Valley can be proud of merchants of this caliber. Schulz Refrigeration not only has our deepest gratitude, but also our future business.
