Would like some questions answered
Editor,
Recently, Thompson Smith submitted a letter in which he listed a few of the positions supported by the Constitution Party. An interesting list, to say the least. I hoped there would be a letter answering it from the Constitution Party perspective. I was pleased to see Joseph Brooks write in response but I was disappointed when he chose to praise Rick Jore for his integrity and religious faith but failed to address the specific positions outlined in Mr. Smith's letter.
I am inclined to cut Mr. Brooks a bit of slack on this point since the focus of all the Constitution Party members during the past few weeks has been to get their man elected. But now the election is over and it is about time for the citizens of Montana to know a bit more about what exactly the Party stands for.
I hope that Mr. Brooks or someone else willing to explain these positions will do so. Due to the constraints imposed by the editor regarding length of letters, I will limit my curiosity at this time to the subject of education. This should give Mr. Brooks or others the room to fully explain their position. What is so bad about the Federal Government helping to pay for the education of the citizens of the United States? Should that money no longer be available, what does the Party expect will be the consequences?
