CHARLO — Rob Roylance, 53, of Charlo died of heart failure Sunday, Nov. 12, 2006, at St. Patrick Hospital.

Rob was born July 27, 1953, to Vern and Doris Roylance in St. Ignatius, the third of seven children. Rob attended school in Charlo, graduating in 1971. His classmates will remember him as being very popular. His senior year he was student body president, and was voted outstanding track athlete. He also was a great football player, playing in the middle of Charlo's streak of 56 games without a loss.

Rob never missed a day of school; he was acknowledged at his graduation for his perfect attendance for all 12 years of school. Rob took his academic excellence onto college in Missoula and graduated from Helena Vocational Institute of Technology in 1973 with a degree in electrical engineering. He was extremely bright and did electrical work for friends and family his whole life.

Rob and his family moved back to Charlo in 1984 where he worked on the family ranch with his father. He was a great asset to the ranch, the support of his family and a valued member of the community.

Rob lived his life with great zest. He was a perfectionist in everything he did, whether it was his cattle breeding, sausage making or playing a game of cribbage. He loved camping, especially at McDonald Lake, and goose hunting with his many friends. Whether in a suit and tie at the office or in coveralls in the field, he was the same great man who we all knew and loved so much.

He was an unbelievable father, brother, son and friend and will not go without being missed everyday.

Rob was preceded in death by an infant brother, Michael; brother, Richard; and his father, Vern, earlier this year.

He is survived by his wife, Dixie; daughters, Angie (Dennis) Debord, Heather (Travis) Scheibe, Gretchen (Rob) Reum, and Kristina; son, Tyler; his nine grandchildren of whom he was very proud; his mother Doris; brothers, Jerry (Tommi), John (Lisa), Jim; a sister Kristy (Gary) Cordis, and many nieces, nephews and thousands of friends.

A celebration of his life was held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, 2006, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Ronan. Burial was in Mountain View Cemetery.

Shrider-Thompson Funeral and Cremation Services of Ronan assisted with arrangements.
