Benefit auction nets over $9,500
Editor,
SAFE Harbor, Lake County and Flathead Reservation's only domestic violence shelter, held its Second Annual Auction on Sept. 30 at the Ronan Community Center. About 50 people attended to bid on over 80 art pieces donated by local artists and members of the community.
A silent auction containing at least 30 gift certificates from local businesses was also held. The board of directors and staff of SAFE Harbor thank everyone who attended, donated items, our sponsors, our volunteers, and those who are dedicated to our mission. With everyone's help, we were able to raise over $9,500.
The money raised will be used to help with the shelter's operating costs and support programs, such as the weekly support group SAFE Harbor collaborates with DOVES to run.
The women's and children's support groups meet every Tuesday from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Polson on 16th Avenue E.
