Jore will do the proper thing

| October 25, 2006 12:00 AM

Editor,

This letter is being written in support of Rick Jore as the next state representative for District 12. Rick is my friend, but that is not the sole basis of my support for him. My reasons go deeper than that. They are familiar to all Montana people who seek a fair and honest government.

Rick is not a "me too" person. I am so tired of politics as usual. If it sounds good, that seems to be the popular thing to do. Rick is not a person who will stoop to lower levels of decency just to get what he wants.

Rest assured, the opposition will vote for a tax increase when and if one comes up. It is now a proven fact that the tax cuts enacted by President Bush, Sr., President Reagan and the current President Bush, that the lowering of taxes in every case improved the economy that we are enjoying today. (Remember the Carter years? They were high taxes and inflation of 17 percent).

The State of Montana leaders today are very tax increase conscious. Rick will vote against reckless taxation. While our present governor is boasting an $800 million surplus in the state treasury, it seems he is forgetting that he inherited a $900 million surplus. Is he trying to take advantage of the surplus he inherited? Some political office holders try to fool the public. We all know Rick well enough to know he makes no attempt to misuse or fool people just to make himself look good.

Our government has a drastic need for being upright and honest. Rick Jore has always supported the right to own and bear arms as described by the United States Constitution. Rick doesn't just "say it," he "believes it," and he "means it." He will not change his mind on any of these very important issues. They are not only important to him, but to all citizens in Montana. Rick's word is rock solid and not one to dance around the system to simply impress someone. He is well known for his personal integrity. He is not the kind of person to get elected to office by any means possible.

Rick stands for the highest principle possible and those are the very ones on which the nation was founded. These principles made the United States a strong nation and a world power. Some of those principles are: Marriage is to be between a man and a woman only. He believes in the right to free enterprise, that all people should have the right to work and choose the profession or trade of their choice. Rick is a family man and believes in a strong family relationship. Rick supports pro-life as a majority of Montanans do.

Finally, I prefer Rick to be the next representative for District 12. What he would choose to do would never be done by degrading or unethical methods.

Knowing we can depend on Rick to do the proper thing is the best reason that can be given to vote for him. I thereby request your consideration to vote for Rick Jore.
