Ashley Lake fire crews applauded

We would like to acknowledge, with appreciation, the superb effort put forth by CSKT Department of Fire on the Ashley Lake fire. Their planning and execution in containing the fire was very professional.

The crews we met were very courteous and professional in their demeanor and willingly supplied information about the fire and their plans to contain it. The CSKT Fire Information Center on Foothills Road and Lemery near St. Ignatius provided high tech aerial photo/GPS information about the extent of the fire and its growth and direction of growth, and it was manned by a knowledgeable, friendly crew. The contract tanker crews who filled up near our house were friendly and courteous and provided us with fire info also.

While we were impressed by the these more visible efforts, we know there were many other people "on the line" that we never saw but who were fighting the fire "up close and personal." A special thanks to them.
