CHARLO— The Charlo Vikings ran their way to a victory on Friday night as they improved their record to 2-2 shutting out the Noxon Red Devils 36-0 in Western C play.

Viking Jake Herak carried the team to their victory with 31 carries totaling 186 yards and taking in four touchdowns on the night. TJ Kerr added to the blowout with 12 carries for 61 yards and bringing in one TD.

"Coach Krahn and his offensive line took control of the game right away," said head coach Steve Love. "I don't think we have dominated the line of scrimmage that way since I have been here. Josh Sharbono, JP Toussaint, Jason Foust, Latham Blevins, and Rocky Reynolds blocked so well. If we are going to continue winning, they have to keep playing that way."

The Vikings' defensive line went to work on the Red Devils not allowing a single number on the board. Josh Sharbono nailed down six tackles, two quarterback sacks, and four assists. Matt Farina took down seven Red Devils with four of them being in the backfield, and he also had four assists.

"Defensively, the score pretty much speaks for itself. We were able to put pressure on them which made their passing game a non-factor," said Love. "They were able to have a few good runs but our pursuit prevented any real big plays. Josh and Matt really played well by getting tackles for loss more than once."

This week Charlo meets up on the gridiron against Sheridan as the Vikings continue their pursuit for the playoffs.

"We kept ourselves in the playoff hunt by beating Noxon so now it's back to the drawing board. Sheridan is going to be an awful big game" said Love. "We will need another big performance from the O-line as well as special teams to get the win."

Charlo plays at home on Friday at 7 p.m. as they face off against the 3-1 Sheridan Panthers.
