Sept. 9, 1933-Sept. 19, 2006

RONAN — Eugene Nelson completed his earthly journey to return home to his Heavenly Father on Sept. 19, 2006. Eugene was born Sept. 9, 1933, in Idaho Falls to Frank Abbott and Zella May Clark Nelson.

Growing up on ranches in Idaho and Montana, he attended school in Idaho and Montana, graduating in St. Ignatius in 1952.

Gene exhibited a willingness to help everyone and lived his life like an old western cowboy. If he could help you, he would. His expertise will always be remembered, cherished and sadly missed.

Eugene married Yvonne Rogers in 1954. They had three children and later divorced. He then married Lorna Knight in 1960. They had two sons and later divorced.

Eugene spent his working years in California, Alaska and Montana as a master mechanic until he retired back at Post Creek where he ranched with his brother.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sisters, and a son, Steven.

He is survived by daughters Carla Skiles and Elaine Scott; sons Allen Eugene, Antone Ardell and Douglas Roger; brother Worth; sister Jeniel Parker; many nieces and nephews, and seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Eugene will be missed and remembered for his brilliant sense of humor and sounds of his laugh will continue to echo in our memories.

Graveside services were conducted by the Shrider-Thompson Funeral Home at the Ronan cemetery on Sept. 25.
