Phyllis Jean (Archibald) Norton

ST. IGNATIUS— Phyllis Jean (Archibald) Norton, 81, died on Feb. 1, 2007.

She was born in Udall, Kan., to Roy and Gladys Archibald on July 16, 1925. Phyllis had one brother and four sisters. Phyllis moved and married Charles Norton of Ephrata, Wash., in Coeur d’Alene on Feb. 29, 1940.

Phyllis was a loving mother and homemaker. She loved to sew, travel and her two dogs Boo and Spook who were her constant companions in later years. She will be loved and missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Charles; three sons, Leonard, William and Richard and daughter LouElla Martin.

Survivors include her three daughters, Peggy Smith, Nancy Gothmann and Ethel Norton; two sons, Chuck Norton and Roy Norton; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her close friend and care provider of 12 years, Marge Rollins.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, at the Foster & Durgeloh Funeral Home in St. Ignatius with burial following in the Pleasant View Cemetery in St. Ignatius. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, Feb. 9, from 5 to 9 p.m. A potluck meal will follow the services.
