Commissioners' stand was correct

Editor,
The Lake County Commissioners took the correct stance in opposing the governor's plan to siphon a half-million dollars in gas tax revenue as a bribe to settle the tribal gaming dispute.
I happen to be acquainted with a person who is in a supervisory position in engineering with the state highway department. He just a week ago told me much of his time in the next few weeks would be spent lobbying the legislature for revenue increases. Ironic that there is $500,000 to squabble over if they are short of money.
Besides, that would mean a $500,000 less extravagant fence somewhere on Highway 93 and that would be a real shame!
