Shirley Jean White
POLSON — Shirley Jean White, 71, of Polson, died on Jan. 7, 2007, at St. Joseph Hospital in Polson.
Shirley was born on Jan. 24, 1935, in Rexburg, Idaho, to Robert and Lucille O'Brien.
She grew up and attended schools in Darby, graduating in 1953 from Darby High School. She attended St. Patrick School of Nursing where she received her RN degree.
Shirley married Clint White on June 15, 1957, in Missoula. She and Clint lived in Havre, Great Falls and eventually they moved to Polson in 1958.
She worked as a nurse at St. Joseph Hospital, for Public Health, Dr. Earl Coriell and the Polson School District #23 where she retired in 1975 after serving 14 years.
She and Clint also owned and operated the Ranch Supper Club from 1972-1980.
Shirley loved to golf. She was a past member of the Jayceens, Rainbow Girls with the Eastern Star and was a deacon at the First Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Clint and her parents.
Shirley is survived by her two daughters, Penni (Gary) Ferraris of Tacoma, Wash., and Cam Thompson of Yelm, Wash.; two grandsons, Logan and Cooper Thompson; her brother and sister-in-law, Pat and Karen O'Brien of Casper, Wyo.; and a sister-in-law, Virginia Hertz of Polson, eight nephews and one niece.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the Grogan Funeral home in Polson.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, Jan. 12, at 10 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Polson with the Rev. Dave Anson officiating.
