Angry at, not frightened by, Reverend Wright
Editor,
I would like to address just one point made in a letter to you from Bob McClellan of Polson (March 27), regarding remarks by Barack Obama's pastor, the Reverend Jeremiah Wright.
There is nothing fear-based in the negative feelings that Pastor Wright's anti-American rhetoric invoked.
The emotion his remarks invoked is anger, pure and simple. My husband John and I and our family lived in many different countries during John's Air Force career.
While we always appreciated and enjoyed the opportunities presented by these experiences, we were also always grateful to return home to America.
When I hear my fellow-Americans not just denigrate our country, but tell lies about it, my blood boils. I think others feel the same way.
I worked in the HIV/AIDS Bureau, administering the Ryan White CARE Act. I can assure anyone reading this letter that the U.S. Government expended (and I would assume continues to expend) significant resources trying to help people of any color, infected with the HIV/AIDS virus.
To suggest that same government somehow caused this illness is beyond belief.
Pastor Wright doesn't frighten me; he angers me.

Love key to Decker's recovery
Dear Mission Valley,
An event was recently held for our son Decker who has Autism.
You may have attended or read about 'A Dream for Decker' in our local papers.
We received such a wonderful outpouring of support.
We do live in the best place on earth! The blessings that our family has been receiving have ranged from prayer, concern, support for our ABA therapy program, money, silent auction donations —the list goes on and on.
We really felt our entire community in an overwhelming sense.
Thank you does not even begin to cover it.
This valley is full of an intimate and precious group of people to which we are so grateful.
Thank you for providing an awesome start to our son's recovery from Autism. Decker's dream is something that we feel he will realize, and obviously as a community, you believe in him as well.
Love for a child is a powerful thing and we are so blessed to have that in common.
God bless,
The Cote Family

Abortion 'not a wise choice'
Editor,
This is a response to a letter to the editor by Ben Griffings on "Abortion choice we can't afford to take away."
It is quite obvious money means more to you than sanctity of life. What price can we put on an unborn child?
There are several other important facts to consider than just ending an unborn baby's life.
Women who have an abortion are at a tremendously higher risk of getting breast cancer than women who do not. Not to mention the trauma these women live with for the rest of their lives.
There are alternative choices. Abortion is not a wise choice.
