My husband and I eat at Isabel's regularly and we must disagree with the assesment of Danielle Anselmo in her restaurant critique last week.
The menu, as she noted, is very interesting and very varied. This is not a vegeterian restaurant. It sounds as if she got excellent food. It's too bad she dislikes feta - we love it and Isabel's cheese is very mild and creamy - but it isn't appropriate that she critique a food she doesn't like in any form.
The bottom line is that Isabel's food is terrific and varied and everyone who hasn't tried it should.

My husband and I, on a beautiful calm and sunny day, were driving south along the east shore of Flathead Lake in Montana.
This natural freshwater lake has deep water. With the slant of the mountainside just about a block and a half away with no trees or bushes along shore … we saw what?
Here, we had to stop and watch big ripples and wake, constant but some uneven. Hard to remember how long a time now, but five or more minutes of action and longer to calm water.
Above the water were several dark forms in a line in and out of the surface of the water. It could not have been a log and had no known explanation other than a sighting of the "Flathead Monster."
Ray for sure was the personality to not believe in tales, but could do the best of telling them.
We arrived at my folks' farm by Pablo. In their company was a nephew and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Doug Johns, with sons 6-year-old Christopher and 4-year-old Josh.
Of course, we excitedly told our story. I'm not sure if seeing the unexplainable on the lake or seeing the wide-eyed boys in awe of us having seen the "Flathead Monster" was more memorable.
My uncles George and Fred Goshe of Pablo, who also fished a lot on the lake, also believed in and saw the "Flathead Monster."

The small town library in Arlee has been a very fortunate library in the past few years. This year was no different. We seem to be getting more notice than in years past and that can only improve our value to the Arlee community. This past 4th of July the library entered the Arlee 4th of July Parade. I don't know how long ago, if ever, the library had an entry in this annual parade, but I know we haven't entered in the last 8 plus years. I wanted to put the library out into the community and thought that this would be a great way of getting us noticed and have some fun too. Well we got noticed and had loads of fun! To our surprise we won in two categories. First place in the float category and first in the club, organization, etc. category.
I would like to thank everyone who helped the Jocko Valley Library achieve this wonderful recognition.
Thank you to this paper for covering this event and doing a fine job. Thank you to the judges of the parade. Thank you to all of our loyal patrons. Special thank you's to the following people who were in the parade or helped us organize our entry: Nash Almeida; Shirlene Almeida; Erika Almeida; Kelley Brown; Sally Cordier; Rick Cordier; Damon Cordier; Dustin Cordier; Devin Cordier & Family Friends; Jo Crawford; Cherie Garcelon; Jerry Garcelon; Midgee (the bumble bee dog); Bryce Norling; Rhea Paul; Skylar Paul; Jonas Paul; Lexie Pierre; and Maureen Talbert.
We couldn't have done this fun and rewarding event without each and everyone of you. Thank you so very much for supporting our/your library.

The Diocese of Helena (Aid to the Needy Programs) of the Catholic Church has awarded $1000.00 to the Bread Basket in Ronan. The Board of the Bread Basket appreciates that the Catholic Church has been so faithful in supporting our program here in Ronan.
Thanks to our business community and their generous response to our donation letters. We know that this is a tough year for many. In addition, we are fortunate to have so many local citizens in the Mission Valley continually donate time, food and money to help our
efforts.
As harvesting time approaches the call is out to gardeners in our valley to share some of their garden grown vegetables and fruit. The Bread Basket is open Tuesday and Friday of each week, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and will accept any fresh produce available to feed our needy families in Ronan, Pablo, Charlo, and Moiese. These vegetables and fruit will add vitamins and minerals to the staples they usually receive. The pantry in Ronan has been serving an average of 120 families each month through out the summer.
Look for our donation & volunteer envelope included in your August Ronan Telephone Company bill. We appreciate anything you can give. A big thanks you to Ronan Telephone Company for donating this insert
A special thank you goes to the Charlo, Pablo and Ronan Rural Postal Carriers. In May, the people in the rural areas of Charlo and Ronan, put groceries by their mailboxes and the rural carriers collected many pounds of food back to the offices where it was gathered and brought to the Bread Basket. What a wonderful donation for our needy families.
We are currently looking for some more volunteers. It takes about 45 volunteers, including our volunteer board, to keep things running. Please consider volunteering some time, either at the center while it is open from 10-2 on Tues./ Fri. or when the trucks bring the food once a month. We are always in need of paper bags and clean jars, as well as volunteers.
Fall is coming soon and hunting season will be here. Commercially wrapped game meat can be donated to the Bread Basket. Also, any commercially wrapped beef, pork, or chicken is very welcomed.
God Bless all of you who are helping the Bread Basket.

Secretary of the Bread Basket
In 1952 I heard an Englishman David Adney lecture, who had been in China when the Communists took over. They promised change, land reform, and other reforms. The Chinese fell for it, but instead they got Marxist oppression and suppression. Castro promised land and other reforms and deceived the Cubans to accept his dictatorship. Both blindsided the media who thought a good things was happening.
I knew from the beginning what Castro was. The media took years to wake up. Are they being blindsided again?
America would do well to get to the bottom of the suggested change from the highest level of success in all fields and all time. The only way to go from literally full employment, full production, unprecedented prosperity is down, which socialistic policies guarantee to happen. Wake up America! Let's not exchange a good thing for a failing system.
