Sherman L. Allison, 75, of Polson, MT passed away at his home on Sunday, Nov. 3, 2008 from natural causes.

Sherman was born March 17, 1933 in Pocatello, Idaho to Ray & Grace Allison. He attended school and grew up in Pocatello.

Sherman married Jennie Marie Miller in Salmon, Idaho on Nov. 1, 1952. They moved back to Pocatello where Sherman worked at a service station and at Purity Biscuit. They later moved to Pablo, MT and started working in the timber industry. He continued in the timber industry until the late 1980's. He started working at Lakeview Cemetery in Polson until he retired in 1999.

Sherman enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting and the outdoors.

He was a member of the Polson Senior Citizens, Polson Jaycees and a Scout Master for Troop #45. He was also a member of the Pablo Baptist Church.

Many family and friends loved Sherman. He never knew a stranger and would always talk to everyone he met. He always had a kind word to say about everyone.

He is preceded in death by his wife Jennie, Son-Randy Lynn Allison, grandson Randy Sherman Allison, Parents, brother-Dean.

He is survived by his children- Robert (Sharon) Allison of Seattle, WA, Gary (Shirley) Allison of Polson, Cliff (Gaile) Allison of Seattle, Gayle (William) Croft of Florence, MT, Tracey (Brad) Clevenger of Clinton, MT and numerous grandchildren & great grandchildren. A sister- Bonnie Harmon of Salt Lake City and a brother Richard of Bountiful, Utah, brother-in-law Butch Miller of Darby, MT, also survive him.

Memorials are suggested to either lake County Hospice or to the American cancer Society.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Wed. Nov. 5, 2008 at Grogan Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pablo Baptist Church in Pablo. A reception will follow at the church. The graveside burial of remains will follow the luncheon at 2:00 p.m. at Lakeview Cemetery.
