MV Mariners practice

Lake County Republicans
The Lake County Republican committee meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 2 at the Miracle Of America Museum, 36094 Memory Lane next to Les Schwab in Polson.

‘The Rock’ playing now
“The Rock,” an inspirational story of faith, plays this final weekend, April 3-5. Curtain times are at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday evenings, with a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday. For more information and reservations, give the Port Polson Players a call at 883-9212.
Jazz Band dinner/dance
Ronan Jazz Band dinner/dance will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, April 3 in the high school gym. Tickets are $13 and include a full dinner. Tickets can be purchased from Jazz Band members or Lydia at the middle school office, 676-3390, ext. 3400.
Hangin’ Art music
Music At The Hangin Art Gallery and Coffee House on Highway 93 in Arlee will feature 12 String Acoustic Funk at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 3.

MV Horseman meeting
The Mission Valley Back Country Horsemen will hold their April meeting at the V.F.W. Hall on Round Butte Road, in Ronan, at 7:30 p.m., on Saturday, April 4. The program/speaker for the evening will be Lee Lytton. We also will discuss our up-coming Annual Steak Ride.
Cherry Growers’ meeting
The 74th annual cherry growers’ horticultural meeting will take place beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday, April 4, at the Yellow Bay Clubhouse, MT Highway 35 (mile marker 18).On-site registration and morning refreshments start at 8 a.m. with presentations beginning at 9 a.m. For more information or to reserve a space, contact Barbara at 982-3069.
‘The Sound of Music’ auditions
The Port Polson Players announce auditions for “The Sound of Music,” to be held Saturday, April 4 at the John Dowdall Theatre on the lake in Polson. Children ages 7 through junior high will try out at 1 p.m., and high school through adult performers audition at 2 p.m. No prepared material is necessary, but participants should be prepared to sing, dance and read from scripts.
After a six-week rehearsal period, the show will be presented at the John Dowdall Theatre May 15 – 24.
Softball bake sale
Ronan-Pablo Youth Softball Association is having a bake sale at 9 a.m. on this Saturday, April 4 at Harvest Foods in Ronan.
Spaghetti dinner benefit
From 4:30-7 p.m. on Saturday, April 4 at the Charlo School, The Charlo/Moiese Volunteer Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services Unit, Inc. will host its 15th Annual Spaghetti Dinner and Silent Auction in the school lunchroom. The auction will start at 4:30 p.m. in the Charlo School’s gym.
Speech and Evaluation contest
Toastmaster Division A will host an international speech and evaluation contest from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, April 4 at the Salish Kootenai College, in the Joe McDonald Health and Fitness Facility. For more information contact Catherine Webber at 755-4884.
34th Annual Head Start Pow-Wow

MVUM yard sale
The Mission Valley UM Youth Fellowship are holding a yard sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on April 4 at the church top of Post Creek Hill. The funds will be used to help with the cost of a Christian Weekend planned for this summer. There are lots of great items donated by several families and baked goods.

Free umpire clinic

Republican women meeting
The Lake County Republican Women will meet at noon on Monday, April 6 at Wheat Montana in Polson. There will be a business meeting followed by a workshop.
Arlee Hunter Education
Arlee Hunter Education Registration will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, April 6 at 6:30 P.M. in the Arlee Fire Hall. The course is open to everyone, but anyone born after January 1, 1985, must have successfully completed the course to purchase a hunting license in Montana. PSTD presentation
A presentation on Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder will be provided by Andrew Laue, L.C.S.W., from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, April 6 at the Johnny Arlee-Victor Charlo Theatre in Pablo. This is open to the public and will cover the impact of trauma on children and their caregivers.

Quilt guild potluck
The Mission Mountain Quilt Guild will hold their monthly meeting/annual Potato Social potluck at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7 at the Alliance Church in Ronan. Mary Smith and Kathy Dennis were in charge of the potato social, so if you have questions regarding that, give them a call.
Kindergarten roundup
The Ronan-Pablo Schools are conducting the annual Kindergarten Registration Program. The registration will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 5: 30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7 at the Ronan Middle School. To be eligible for kindergarten, a student must be 5 years old on or before September 10. Parents are asked to bring the birth certificate and immunization record for their child at registration. Immunizations will be available at the time of registration. Children will be screened in hearing, speech, vision and school readiness skills. Registration and screening should be completed in approximately one hour, so please plan accordingly. For more information contact the Special Services office at 676-3390, ext. 3450. Ronan will hold a new Kindergarten Open House from 6-7 p.m. on Monday, April 20. Pablo will hold a new Kindergarten Open House from 6-7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22.
Ronan screening
A Preschool Screening Program conducted by the Ronan-Pablo Schools has been scheduled for 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7 at the Ronan Middle School. The free, by appointment screening for children between the ages of birth to 5 with concerns about areas like hearing, speech, vision and others. Lake County Academic Bowl Competition
The year is winding down and our last Academic Bowl meet is in Charlo on Tuesday, April 7. The night will feature written exams from 2:30 -4 p.m. in the library and oral rounds in the Charlo Gym from 4:15-8:00pm that cover the core classes, local history and current events. The schools competing are from Polson, Ronan, Mission, and Charlo. The Charlo kitchen staff will provide a wonderful taco / nacho bar with all the fixings and a brownie / ice cream dessert bar from 5:15 – 6 p.m.

Plson Rural Fire District Trustee Meeting
A Polson Rural Fire Distrcit meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 8 in the Polson City Council Room. Past and present agenda items will be discussed. All residents of the Polson Rural Fire District and interested general public are encouraged to attend. Resident’s questions and ideas help to keep the trustees informed and assist them in formulating their decisions.

NARFE meeting
THe National Active and Retired Federal Employees will meet at 11:45 a.m. on Wednesday, April 8 at the Polson Senior Center. Lunch will be available. Following lunch there will be a program featuring a spokesperson from Home Health Care. A brief business meeting will follow.
Youth home fundraiser
Big Productions, a fundraising adventure of the Lake County Youth Home, will bring Small Potatoes to the new Ronan Performing Arts Center (located in the Ronan Middle School Complex) at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 8. For more information contact Chas Cantlon 676-2427.

American Legion meeting
The Polson American Legion Post 112 will meet at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 9 upstairs at the Polson VFW.
Masumola Club meeting
The Masumola Club meeting will be held on Thursday, April 9 at the
Clubhouse. The Easter social gathering begins at 6 p.m., potluck at 6:30 p.m. and program at 7:00. Program is featuring “Winging it North” - local bird migration with Jim Rogers of the Audubon Society.
Grasshopper Forecast and Control Clinic
A Grasshopper Forecast and Control Clinic has been scheduled for 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 9 at the Round Butte Women’s Clubhouse, 7.5 miles west of Ronan on Round Butte Road. Specialists from USDA APHIS Plant Protection and Quarantine Division will conduct a program to assist landowners in Lake County to identify, manage and control grasshoppers through early detection. Reserection events
Come joing us Thursday, April 9 through Sunday April 12 to follow the life of Jesus. The even will begin with a light supper at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday, events begin at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Sunday morning there will be a special service ta 7 :15 a.m., followed by a free breakfast. The event is hosted by Glacier View Sevent Day Adventist Christian School in Ronan. Celebrate Earth Day and Bike Path Appreciation Day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 25. We are looking for outgrown bikes in working condition to be donated for our event. We will come pick up or you can drop off at Tribal Fitness

Horse Rescue Facility in Polson is in desperate need of support. The owner and 16 horses are being threatened with eviction next week by the lender. Ninepipes Museum opening

Spring Hunters Education Class
Registration for the Spring Hunter Education course will from 6:30 -9 p.m. on be Monday, April 20th, in Room 118 at the Beaverhead Math & Science building on the Salish Kootenai College campus in Pablo. A parent or guardian must accompany students under 18 to registration.
National LIbrary Week
Polson City Library will commemorate National Library Week, April 11-18, with a special evening program featuring Polebridge author Sharon Midkiff Randolph. Randolph’s presentation will beat 7 p.m. om Wednesday, April 15 in the Library Meeting Room. There will be no admission charge. Refreshments will be served.
Owl Institue meeting
The Ronan PTA will sponsor Author Night with Denver Hold, an owl speciliast from the Owl Institute out of Charlo. The event will take place at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 16 at the Performing Arts Center at Ronan Middle School. The event is free.

Home School meeting cancelled
Mission Valley Home Educators’ “First Friday Fellowship” has been cancelled for the month of April. However, the group plans to meet at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 2 (should be May 1) for a potluck dinner meeting at the New Life Christian Center. Announcements and convention information will be shared, as well as an informal, end-of-the-school-year book exchange. MME egg hunt
Mission Mountain Enterprises, Inc. will be holding its 15th annual Ronan Community Easter Egg Hunt at 1 p.m on Saturday, April 11 in the Ronan City Park. There will be prizes for all age categories of participants. Photos with the Easter Bunny will occur after the event at our Twice But Nice Thrift Store at 229 Main St. SW in Ronan. Charlo Kindergarten round-up
The Charlo Elementary School is holding its Kindergarten Round-up frp, 8:30 a.m. to noon, and from noon to 4 p.m. on Monday, April 20. To be eligible for kindergarten next fall, a student must be five years old by Sept. 10. Parents need to bring a birth certificate and immunization records to the registration. ARK afterschool
An after school program for kids from six to 12 years old begins at 3:30 p.m. and ends at 5 p.m. for five Wednesdays beginning April 15 and ending May 13. The ARK, after-school respite for kids, will focus on people working for peace.
