Dwayne Odom

CHARLO — Dwayne Odom, 46, loving husband, father, son, brother and friend passed away suddenly on Friday, Oct. 9, to be with our Lord. He was born on July 13, 1963, in Phoenix, Ariz., to Bill and Juanita Odom.

Dwayne began his painting career as a teenager and worked for others, as well as running his own business as a commercial and residential painter. His accomplishments are seen at many Mission Valley and Missoula residential and commercial sites.

It was love at first sight for Dwayne when he met his wife, Rochelle, in 1999 in Phoenix. They moved to Charlo, in August 2000 and were married on Sept. 26, 2004. They have two children, Toby and Paige. He loved all six of his kids and grandchildren with his whole heart.

Dwayne enjoyed outdoor activities and making furniture. The biggest dream he was pursuing was building motorcycles and hot rods.

Despite his rough exterior, the people who took the time to know him knew his love for the Lord made him a compassionate, emotional man who helped anyone in need, even if it meant it would make things a little tighter for himself. His last loving act was as an organ donor, giving life to others he didn’t even know.

He is survived by his wife, Rochelle; children: Kyle (Katrina), Heather (Travis), Misty K., Dwayne Jr., Toby, and Paige; two grandchildren, Hannah and Braelyn; parents Bill and Juanita Odom; sister Wanda; and brothers Richard and Darren. He will be missed by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Valley Bank to assist in the raising of his two minor children.

Services were held on Saturday, Oct. 17 at Cornerstone Faith Center, 516 N. Main in St. Ignatius.

William Allen Marcum

William (Bill) Allen Marcum, beloved husband and father, passed away at the age of 67 on Oct. 14, from COPD.

Bill was born in Conrad on March 28, 1942, to Hank and Nellie Marcum, both preceding him in death. Bill has three children: Bethany (Greg) Hovland of Great Falls, Peggy (Keith)Markegard of San Diego, Calif. and Roger (Marti) Marcum of Great Falls; with his first wife Judith Betterman Klette. Bill married his best friend Doris Marreel, July 3, 1982. Bill raised Doris’s two children from a previous marriage, Tammy Dunlop of Great Falls and Brad (Stacey) Marreel of Conrad. Doris also has a daughter Toni (Gary) Keller of Roy. Bill has three brothers: Tom (Ruthann) Marcum of Texas, Joe (Carol) Marcum of Kalispell, Larry(Connie) Marcum of Shelby and one sister Anna Marcum of Texas. Bill had 11 grandchildren and a special companion, Shaggy.

Bill was a Vietnam veteran, serving in the Army from 1964-70. He then worked for UBC for 18 years until they closed, retiring from the city of Great Falls in 2002. Shortly after retiring, Bill, Doris and Shaggy moved to Polson for health related reasons and then to Conrad in April of 2009 as his health worsened and he needed to be closer to his children.

Bill loved being a father and grandfather. He loved fishing with his children when they were younger and could often be found tinkering in his garage building “gifts” for the grandchildren before his illness. He was also a very active member of the VFW, belonging to Post 7655 the last few years.

He is preceded in death by his son, Roger, in 2004.

Bill has been cremated and his memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 6 at the Pondera Funeral Home.
