Dusty Bull leads Ronan
MISSOULA — Ronan cross country head coach Gale Decker knows his team can run better.
“The girl’s team needs to develop some consistency from one week to the next,” Decker said. “We need to get better times out of our four and five runners [on the boy’s team] to be competitive. There were some very strong teams in the meet, but we are capable of running much better.”
At the Mountain West Classic last Saturday in Missoula, Ronan was led by Justin Dusty Bull.
“He finished in the top-100 of a very tough field of runners,” Decker said.
Dusty Bull took 93rd out of 363 runners with a time of 17:04.
Personal bests from Brady Oakland and Christian Rogers “is encouraging,” Decker said. Oakland finished in 18:22 and Rogers crossed in 19:30.
For the Maidens, Ashley Grandchamp was the first to finish in a time of 21:49.
“Ashley Grandchamp ran her best race of the season and looked good start to finish,” Decker said.
Rachel Hardy finished next with 23:36 and Tannesha Lefthand was third on the team with 24:29.
Ronan will run in the Mansion Invitational on Saturday.
