Laura Mueller Adsit
Laura Mueller Adsit, of Polson, passed away Wednesday, June 17 at the home of Dan and Linda Roberts, surrounded by her family in Polson.
Laura was born December 3, 1922, in Parker, Idaho, a daughter of Carry Clifford Main and Lilly Jones Main. She graduated from Harlem High School with the class of 1942.
She married Oswald Mueller on September 23, 1942, in Chinook. They were married for 46 years. They lived in Chinook then moved to Fort Benton in 1950, they then moved to Ronan in 1961. Laura and Oswald raised three sons and one daughter and owned a ranch in North Crow for nearly 30 years. She spent many hours cooking for hay and branding crews. She also made excellent cinnamon rolls and pies and always had a coffee pot on for everyone. She later married Robert Adsit on May 19, 1990. Laura moved to Polson in 1991. She had lived with Dan and Linda Roberts since 2005.
Laura always loved children; she did babysitting and had foster children. She also worked many years for Sterling’s. She was a member of the Good Sam Club and always enjoyed their gatherings. She was also a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ronan and the Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Polson.
Laura was preceded in death by her husbands, Oswald Mueller and Robert “Bob” Adsit; her brothers, Kenneth Main, John Main, Elmer Main, Clifford Main, and Clarence Main; sisters, Cecil Shelton Rosenbaum, Gladys Main Owens, and Beulah Main; and one son, Larry Mueller.
She is survived by her sons: Fred (Bonnie) Mueller and Lornie (Rose) Mueller; daughter Linda (Dan) Roberts and her daughters, Claudia Marshall, Pearl Jackson and Edith Phillips. Eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren also survive Laura.
The family wishes to thank all the people with hospice care, for they are angels among us.
Funeral services were held on Monday, June 29 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Ronan. Burial followed in Ronan Cemetery and a reception followed the services at the church. Memorials may be made to either the Senior Citizens Center, 528 Main St., Ronan, MT 59864, hospice care at Lake County Home Options, 711 Main St., Ronan, MT 59864, or to a charity of one’s choice.

Lura V. Holland
A memorial mervice for Lura V. Holland, 88, of Polson, who passed away on Jan. 6, will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, at the First United Methodist Church in Polson. All are welcome to attend.
Shane Ellsworth Richwine
Shane Ellsworth Richwine, 51, of Polson passed away on Friday, June 26 at his home from natural causes. He was born on Oct. 1, 1957, in Polson to Enoch and Evelyn Lucille Long Richwine. Shane graduated from Polson High School in 1975; he also attended the school of hard knocks. He married Vicky J. Knutson in 1975 at Polson. From grade school until his death he worked and operated the well-known Burgerville in Polson. He was a member of the BPOE 1965 (Mission Valley Elks) for 25 years, along with being a member of the Sons of American Legion No. 466 in Big River, Calif. for five years.
His father Enoch Richwine preceded him in death. Shane is surivived by his wife Vicky of Polson; son Jeremy David Richwine and wife, Marisa Schales of Florien, La. His mother; Lucille Richwine; sister; Marcia (Cameron) Moen of Missoula, brothers; Mason Richwine and wife Kathy Schliep, of Columbia Falls, Corey Richwine and wife Kathy Frasier of Ronan; three grandchildren: Matthew, Elizabeth and Kennon.
Memorials may be made in Shane’s memory to the Polson Class of 1975 reunion or to the local American Cancer Society. Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 1, at the Grogan Funeral Home in Polson. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 3, at the Polson High School Auditorium. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. A reception will be held at the Polson Elks Club. James Clayton Hart
James Clayton Hart, 61, of Polson passed away on Friday, June 26, at St. Joseph Hospital from natural causes. He was born on June 16, 1948, in Bakersfield, Calif., to Raymond and Beatrice McFarland Hart. He attended school at Pismo Beach, Calif. and Ely, Nevada, and attended a junior college in Kennewick, Wash. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. Clayton married Stephanie Edith Burnett in 1985 at Saratoga, Calif. He worked as a dental tech and owned and operated Clayton’s Jewelry in Polson.
He was a life member of the VFW, served as commander of VFW post No. 2986 from 2002-06, a member of the Elks Club No. 1695 (Mission Valley Elks), and served as past grand commander of the Cooties. Clayton enjoyed many things, building model cars and ships, and making costumes for Halloween.
His parents, a sister Sharon Gibson, brother Ken Hart and nephew Erik Hart preceded him in death. He is surivived by his wife Stephanie Hart of Polson; daughter Christina Hart, Janell McGivern of Georgia, Corrina Koenig and Clatricia Lagerway all of Washington; a stepson Shawn Dowds of Pennsylvania; a sister Suzanne Viegas of Nevada, and brother Curtis Hart of California, along with nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, June 30, in the Grogan Funeral Home. Memorial services were held on Wednesday, July 1, in the VFW Hall in Polson with Rev. Richard Widerholdt officiating. Military honors will follow at the hall. Condolences may be made to the family at www.groganfuneralhome.com
Thelma Mangels Sherba
Thelma Alwine Mangels Sherba passed away on June 20. She was 87. She was born on Nov. 27, 1921, to George Mangels and Anna (Henn) Mangels in Polson. She grew up on a farm on Minesinger Trail in Mountain View. She was no stranger to work, helping her parents on the farm, and even driving the horses by herself. She quickly learned to drive her father’s new 1939 Ford 9N tractor. Thelma attended Polson schools and graduated from PHS in 1940. She was united in holy matrimony to Howard Sherba on Feb. 5, 1955. The family moved to Boulder, Colo. in 1967 where they became members of Mt. Hope Lutheran Church. Thelma was a member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and was active in many other church groups. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and needlework.
Thelma is survived by her husband Howard; daughter Susanne and husband Rick Muller; her son Tim and grandson Austin, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, George and Walter, and her sisters Nelda and Adella.
Deborah (Ross) Bugosh
1955-2009
On June 17 after a long courageous battle with breast cancer, Deb passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family. Deb had a successful career in banking for many years. She was also able to go back to school for international business studies, but was most proud of her four beautiful children, to whom she was devoted even throughout her illness. She was fortunate enough to travel the world and touched many lives with her friendly personality and compassion for others. Deb has chosen Polson for her final resting place as it is where she spent many happy childhood years, graduated from high school, and has family and friends dear to her heart.
She is survived by her husband, Nicholas Bugosh and younger children: Alexandra Bugosh and Nicholas Andrew Bugosh, all of Ft. Collins, Colo.; daughter Katie Michele Devlin of Helena; son Brian Patrick Devlin of Whitefish; her mother Patricia Ross of Ft. Collins, Colo.; brothers: Patrick Ross, Phoenix, Ariz., Michael Ross of Park City, Utah and sister Michele Ross of St. George, Utah; and her nephews, Sean Straatsma, Salt Lake City, Utah; and Nicholas Straatsma; Phoenix, Ariz. She was preceded in death by her father George H. Ross in 1967. Burial will be at the Lakeview Cemetery at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 3, in Polson with reception to follow at Boettcher Park.

Joyce Ann Jensen
Joyce was born on July 18, 1930, in Grenora, N.D., to Marinus and Agnes Jensen. She passed on June 15, at her family home in Polson. She graduated in 1947 from Antelope High School in Montana. Their class motto was “Ever Forward”, this was Joyce’s way of living.
She married Curtis Eldon Van Voast on Dec. 30, 1950 in Havre. They had thee sons: Curtis Eugene, Rick Eldon and David Bradley. They moved to Polson in May, 1955 where Curt began the family ranching/farming business. Joyce taught art, math and English off and on for 12 years in the Polson school system. She spent her life designing and planting her beautiful flower garden and shelter belt. It was her mini oasis in the middle of the farm. She also designed and made couture clothing sewn from Levi’s. Her business was known as VanJo and was trademarked on October 24, 1978. She was ahead of her time with this endeavor. Over 50 years ago, she designed the family ranch home using Frank Lloyd Wright as her influence. Again, she was ahead of her time. She completed her pilots training in 1974. She and Curt flew their Cessna 182 for many years.
Joyce was known for her garden parties and her love of “Black Box Wine”. She lived her life to the fullest and left a legacy in her home and garden. She will be missed by all.
She is survived by her three sons: Gene, Rick (Sheryl) and David; her grandchildren: Jason Van Voast and Kristi (Lincoln) Jore and her two great-grandchildren: Darbee Jore Lytle and Kanan Jore; her sisters: Helen MacMillan, Fay (John) Oberlitner; her brothers, Bill (Cheri) Jensen, Pete Jensen, and Ray Jensen (Fay’s twin). Her parents and her sisters, LaFern and Violet, preceded her in death. A celebration to honor her life took place on June 20 in her garden.
Ronald Melvin Foster
Ronald Melvin Foster, 68, passed away of natural causes on Saturday, June 27, at St. Luck Hospital in Ronan. He was born on May 11,1941, in Rock Springs, Wyo. His family moved to Montana in 1943. He went to school in Hamilton. Ron married Carolyn Raines in 1960. they moved to Ronan in 1968. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and all his friends. Ron is survived by his wife Carolyn; a daughter Kim (Wes); a son Lew; brothers Larry (Mona) and Bruce (Cheryl)l; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son.
He loved Montana and everyone.
Per his request, cremation has taken place and no services are planned. Shrider-Thompson funeral and cremation services of Ronan is assiting with arrangements.
