Kindergarten
registration
The Ronan-Pablo Schools are conducting the annual Kindergarten Registration Program. The registration will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 8 at the Ronan Middle School. To be eligible for kindergarten, a student must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 10. For more information contact the Special Services office at 676-3390, ext. 3450.

Acoustic music
Handcrafted Acoustic Music with Jim and Stacy, local musicians Jim Steiner and Stacy Lynne offer an evening of handcrafted original acoustic tunes, 6-8 p.m. on Friday, April 9 at Glacier Brewery, #6 10th Ave. E., Polson. Call 883-2595 for more info.
Calling all artists
The People's Center is hosting a Spring Arts and Craft Bazaar at The People's Center daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 9-10. Call 675-0160 to reserve your space.
Free Dinner
Have dinner with the First Presbyterian Church of Polson on April 9 and the second Friday night of each month at our Friendship Table. Everyone in the community is welcome. Bring your friends; enjoy a hearty meal and fellowship from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of First Presbyterian Church, 301 4th Avenue East (across from the main entrance to Linderman School).

Figure drawing
Mark your calendar for figure drawing at the Sandpiper Gallery.
Sandpiper Gallery at 306 Main St. Polson will sponsor figure drawing on April 10, April 24, May 8 and May 22. Figure drawing with a clothed model is a bi-weekly event on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon in the gallery's new workroom. The public is invited to attend along with all gallery members. This is not a class, but an opportunity to practice and enhance your drawing skills. A nominal fee for the model is asked. Bring your own drawing supplies, and join us. Tree care workshop
The Ronan Tree & Beatification Board will be hosting a Tree Care Workshop in honor of Arbor Day at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 10, at the County Extension Office in the Community Center Building in Ronan.
Rick Jennison, certified arborist, will conduct a workshop in the morning on the care and planting of trees.
We will have coffee and donuts available in the morning and after a lunch break, we will be moving out to Main Street to learn the proper way of removal and moving of trees, trimming trees and planting trees. There will also be a demonstration on how to properly cut girdling roots before planting.
There is a $10 registration fee and those that pre-register will receive a 12" potted Colorado Spruce tree.
Please be reminded; as we will be outside in the afternoon please bring a jacket in case of cooler weather.

Ronan Booster Club fundraiser
The Ronan Booster Club will be having it's 1st Annual Booster Luau on Saturday April 10, at the Ronan Community Center. Tickets includes a roast pork dinner and one drink ticket. This is the final week to purchase tickets. Doors open at 3 p.m. and drawings begin at 5 p.m. There will also be 50/50s, silent auctions and a no-host bar. The main event will be the Calcutta drawings. Drawings will be for cash prizes from $50 to the Grand Prize of $4,000. Ticket sales are limited to 300. Grand Prize Contingent On All 300 Tickets sold. Braylin Coville
fundraiser
A car wash and Frito chili pie fundraiser for Braylin Coville, a 6-month-old cancer patient, will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 10, at Hanson and Granley True Value Hardware in Ronan. All donations will help Braylin and his family travel to Portland, Ore., for his chemotherapy treatments.
Donations can also be made to the Braylin Coville Fund at Community Bank and Valley Bank.

Valley View monthly potluck at 5 p.m. on Sunday April 11 at the Valley View Clubhouse 40762 Valley View Road. Bring your favorite dish to share and visit with old friends. Steve Stanley and Beth Hoel will be speaking at the potluck, they are running for the Rural Fire Board. Come meet them and ask questions.

Mission Mountain Audobon meeting
"Birdy, Birdy in the Sky," by Pat Jamieson will be the next evening program at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 13, in the Polson City Library Meeting Room.Everyone is welcome. Jamieson will share her passion about feathered creatures. She'll present tips hints and clues to get you birding. She'll discuss how to use binoculars and make them work best for you. She'll explain the organization of field guides and how to find your way through them. And, while we will identify some common local birds, the emphasis will be on how you can recognize types of birds and look for field marks, so you can identify birds independently. We'll also tune into behavior and habitat clues, which, besides making identification easier, starts a closer relationship with the bird you're following. Best of all, Pat will convince you that bird watching can be fun and relaxing.
Family science night
Family science night will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 13, at the K. Wiliam Harvey Elementary Gym. Bring your family for exciting family science activities and experiments. Activities include liquid nitrogen ice cream, Hot Wheels track, computer activities, Mars robot, robotics. Sponsored by Ronan PTA and Big Sky Science Partnership.
Candidate forum
Citizens Acting for Liberty invites all Lake County voters to a primary candidate election forum on Tuesday, April 13, at the Community Center, 300 3rd Ave. NW in Ronan. A potluck dinner begins at 6 p.m., followed by a candidate forum at 6:45 p.m. featuring HD 11, county commissioner and sheriff candidates. In addition to candidate education, before and after the event, you will have an opportunity to visit focus groups that will be holding separate smaller meetings each month on issues such as property rights, Tenth Amendment, respect for life, voter issues, constitutional studies, Second Amendment rights and preparedness.
Wednesday, April 14
Kids and adults will paint chairs, stools and benches at the ARK for the next two Wednesdays to help raise funds to benefit the Haitian people. The ARK is a five-week after-school program offered from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, 301 16th Ave. E. in Polson.
The ARK's spring session begins April 14 and ends May 12. All kids between the ages of six and 12 are invited to attend the ARK.
The craft project for the first two weeks will be painting chairs, benches and stools for a fund raiser to be held from 3 to 5 p.m., Sunday, April 25, at the Flathead Lake United Methodist Camp to benefit Heifer Project International's Haitian Appeal. Six churches will sell their artistic work at a silent auction fund-raiser to send gifts of livestock and training to Haiti. The goal of this fund raiser is to "fill an ARK" for Heifer.
Program focus for the ARK this year is on "Making a Difference in the World: Social Justice." Activities to enhance the day's topic will include a snack, games, singing, crafts and prayer time. Food and assistance are provided for the ARK by members of the Polson First United Methodist Church.

NARFE to meet in Polson
The National Active and Retired Federal Employees will meet at 11:45 a.m. on April 14 at the Polson Service Ceter. A meal of beef stroganoff with noodles will be served. Following lunch will be speaker Dorothy Ashcraft of the Soroptomists organization. Following the program will be a business meeting precided over by Chapter 1744 President Byran River.
