*The following district court proceedings took place March 31.

-State of Montana vs. Mark Mergenthaler; 37. The matter before the Court is arraignment. Ready to enter plea, Defendant pleads not guilty to the charges of aggravated assault, a felony, Count I; attempt (burglary), a felony, Count II; intimidation, a felony, Count III; tampering with witnesses and informants, a felony, Count IV; partner or family member assault, a misdemeanor, Count V; and assault, misdemeanors, Counts VI and VII. The plea is entered and the case will be set for trial. Defendant remains in custody. Omnibus hearing is set for April 21 at 9 a.m.

-State of Montana vs. Alan Kibler; 24. The matter before the Court is arraignment. Ready to enter plea, Defendant pleads not guilty to the charges of aggravated assault, a felony, Count I; criminal endangerment, a felony, Count II; assault on a minor, a felony, Count III; criminal destruction of or tampering with a communication device, a misdemeanor, Count IV; and unlawful restraint, a misdemeanor, Count V. The plea is entered and the case will be set for trial. Omnibus hearing is set for May 5 at 9 a.m.

-State of Montana vs. Nickie Gardiner; 53. The matter before the Court is arraignment. Ready to enter plea, Defendant pleads not guilty to the charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, fourth or subsequent offense, a felony, Count I; and driving while license is suspended or revoked, a misdemeanor, Count II. The plea is entered and the case will be set for trial. Defendant remains at liberty. Omnibus hearing is set for May 5 at 9 a.m.

-State of Montana vs. Ronee Martin; 21. The matter before the Court is sentencing. PSI has been received and reviewed. The Court defers imposition of sentence for six years. In the event Defendant makes full restitution it is reserved to Defendant the right to request relief from probation after three years. Defendant is ordered to serve 10 days in the LCJ and is to receive credit for time served. The remaining jail time is to be served within six months of March 31.

-State of Montana vs. Michael Turpin; 48. The matter before the Court is sentencing. PSI has been received and reviewed. The Court defers imposition of sentence for three years on Count I and sentences Defendant to the LCJ for six months with all suspended but two days on Count III. The sentence imposed on Count III is to run concurrent to the sentence imposed on Count I. In addition Defendant is ordered to serve 30 days in the LCJ on Count I with credit for time served to date. Attorney Brian West indicates the parties have an agreement that Defendant be allowed to serve his jail sentence on house arrest if arranged and paid for by Defendant. No objection by the State. So ordered.

-State of Montana vs. Bryan Healy; 19. The matter before the Court is sentencing. PSI has been received and reviewed. The Court defers imposition of sentence for three years. As conditions the Defendant is ordered to serve 14 days in the LCJ. Defendant is to receive credit for time served on this offense while in custody. Defendant request 90 days to serve jail time. No objection by the State. Request granted.

*The following district court proceedings took place April 1.

-State of Montana vs. Michael Shields; 51. The matter before the Court is adjudicatory hearing. The Court finds the State provided sufficient evidence to support the petition and revokes the Defendant's suspended sentence. Ready for sentencing. Recommendations by counsel. For the offense of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, a felony, the Court commits the Defendant to the MSP for four years with the recommendations of any possible treatment that is available to the Defendant. Previous conditions re-imposed.

-State of Montana vs. Justin Keeble; 29. The matter before the Court is arraignment. Ready to enter plea, Defendant pleads not guilty to the charges of aggravated assault, Count I, criminal endangerment, Count II, felonies and criminal destruction of or tampering with a communication device, Count III, a misdemeanor. The plea is entered and the case will be set for trial. The Court sets this matter for omnibus hearing on May 6 at 9 a.m.

-Martin, William D. III; 38. Obstructing a peace officer or other public servant. Fined $150 and 180 days in jail with 180 suspended.

-Zetterstrom, Rhonda W.; 45. Fail to carry proof or exhibit insurance in vehicle - first offense. Fined $150.

-Schall, Kylie R.; 18. Fail to give notice of accident by quickest means/apparent damage over $500. Fined $50.
