Hawaii coming to Mission

center

The exact date has not been chosen, but Patty Krantz said another Hawaiian Fun Day will be held at the St. Ignatius Senior citizens' center next month. Don't forget that the Amish Youth Singers will perform at the center on Wednesday, at 5:30 p.m. The performance will accompany the usual monthly evening meal.

St. Ignatius area residents are reminded that the center delivers noon meals on Tuesdays and Fridays to persons who are home bound or have difficulty getting or preparing meals. The April board of directors meeting has been delayed until Tuesday, April 26 at 10 a.m.

Donated items are needed for the center's annual rummage and bake sale May 4 through 8. Anyone wanting to donate items for the rummage sale may do so by dropping by the center at 312 North Main or by calling the center.

For more information about the center and its activities and services, call 745-4462 or go on the internet to missionmontana.org. The following is the schedule of activities at the center for April. Bingo is played after almost every lunch.

Thursday, April 15: quilters

Friday, April 16: baked fish lunch

Monday, April 19: Wii bowling

Tuesday, April 20: soup and salad bar lunch

Thursday, April 22: quilters

Ronan senior news

Well, here we are, already to the middle of April. Last Thursday, we had all sorts of weather, from warm and sunny to a mini blizzard, and I hope that today's forecast is better. Last Thursday was also our evening meal for the month, and we had 62 people come and enjoy it.

We will be having another Defensive Driving Course (55 Alive) on June 2nd. Give us a call (676-2371) if you would like to sign up for it.

If you need a ride for an appointment, give the COA a call at 676-2368 and they can get you all set up to go. They have vans and volunteer drivers available for these trips. The COA is also looking for people who qualify to receive the senior commodities. Give them a call at 676-2367 to see if you can receive them.

On Friday, April 16, there is going to be a party for Claudia Marshall's 90th birthday at the Leon Clubhouse. The party starts at 2 p.m. and is a pot luck. No gifts, please.

The next card party will be here at the Ronan center at 7 p.m. on Monday, April 19.

The date of the Ronan foot clinic has been changed to 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 21. No appointment is necessary, and it is on a "first come" basis. I have noticed that no one minds waiting, as there are always plenty of people to visit with.

We have BINGO after lunch on Mondays and Fridays, and the pool table is usually being put to good use. The people who participate in these two functions seem to be having a lot of fun, and maybe you should come in and join them.

Our menu for the following week is: Friday, April 16 is hamburger patties

Monday April 19 is spaghetti

Wednesday, April 21, is chicken and dressing casserole

Friday, April 23 is goulash.

Come in and join us.

And now, some words of inspiration from a 65-year-old: "I've learned that if you pursue happiness, it will elude you. But, if you focus on your family, your church, the needs of others, your work, meeting new people, and doing the very best you can, happiness will find you."

With Jo Durand.

Thank you for taking care of the weeds in the flower garden last Friday. And what a cold day to work outside. Not a whole lot going on here. This news will be short and sweet.

Now for some card scores. The bridge scores for April 6th had Jack Rupe first and Doris Gorsuch second. And for April 9th bridge, we had Jack Rupe first again and Dean Griener second. The pinochle winners were Bob Cooley first and Pete Daniels second.
