Arlee gets all-around progress

THOMPSON FALLS -The Arlee girls' track team saw some steady improvement from last week, while the boys team struggled to get points on the board Saturday at the Thompson Falls Invitational.

The girls' throwers continued to place in their events. Sophomore Becca Nelson placed second in the discus with a throw of 93-9. She also placed fourth in the javelin with a throw of 99-9.

Senior Chelsea Allaire placed fifth in the 100 hurdles with a time of 19.55 and fifth in the javelin with a throw of 97-7.

The girls also improved in their jumping events, with sophomore Jenna Pablo jumping a 4-6 in the high jump, placing fourth. Junior Cassandra Kline placed sixth in the triple jump with 30-3.

Both boys' relay teams placed in Saturday's meet, with the 400-meter relay team placing fourth with a time of 48.74 and the 1600 relay team placing fifth with a time of 4:02.26.

Other top finishers for the boys' team were sophomore Zach Carver, who placed third in the 100 with a time of 11.72, while sophomores Clayton Tremble and Zach Tameler placed sixth. Tremble placed in the 200 with a time of 25.15 and Tamler in the 400 with a time of 58.92.

Arlee's next track meet is today at Hot Springs.
