Now that we are over Pioneer Days, it’s time to enjoy the Lake County Fair. Take a little time to see what the kids, and some of our seniors, have been working on all year. Don’t forget to take in the quilt show at the school gym. They always have a lot of beautiful quilts for you to look at.
We had thought that the foot clinic would be held on Aug. 18, but have learned that it will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 25 instead and is on a first come basis.
The print out menus have had a few mix-ups on it, so if you are as confused as I am, give us a call (676-2371) to see what we are serving.
We had 79 people at the center to honor Lorna Tougas as our Senior of the Year, and for our birthday dinner, we had 68 people join us.
Our monthly evening meal will be at 5 p.m. on Aug. 12 and we will be serving roast pork. The Veterans Rep will be here that same day from 1 until 3 p.m.
The Ronan Center will be hosting the card party at 7 p.m. on Aug. 16. Come on in and join them, there is always room for more.
Menu: Friday, Aug. 6, sandwiches and soup; Monday, Aug. 9, meatloaf; Wednesday, Aug. 11, pizza; Thursday, Aug. 12, pork roast at 5 p.m.; Friday, Aug. 13, stew.
The Council on Aging is still in need of drivers to take people to various appointments. Give them a call at 676-2368 if you can help, or if you are in need of a ride.
We are still collecting aluminum cans and appreciate any that are given to us.

With Cathy Corrigan: We are still in need of volunteers to help with meal deliveries. If you have some time to give, please give us a call here at 883-4735 and we’ll give you more information.
The Toenail and Blood Pressure Clinic will be from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Aug. 11 and the Veterans Aide will be here from 10 a.m. to noon on Aug. 12.
The donations made to the center in the memory of Laura Raisl were very much appreciated.
Now for some card scores. The bridge scores for July 26 were a tie between Ruth Baer and Chuck Aker. Bridge scores for July 30 were Stan Petersen first and Bennye Kingsley second. The pinochle winners for July 29 were Bob Cooley first and Duane and Alice Johnson tied for second. Those getting double pinochles were Dee Adams and Pete Daniels. Bob Cooley got 800 Kings. Way to go, Bob.
