Ronan

I hope that everyone is enjoying their Thanksgiving holiday. The center will be closed tomorrow (Friday), but will be open again on Monday. We had our Thanksgiving meal here at the Center last week, with 102 people in attendance and 15 home deliveries. If you weren’t here, you missed a great meal.

The weekly card party was held here on the 15th, with 24 people present. Marie and Sylvia provided the lunch, Esther Bick had the high score, Bob Watson had the low score, Verna Krantz had the most pinochles and Ruby Mocabee won the door prize. The next card party will be held at the Dixon Senior Center on the 22nd of December.

With winter setting in, and the conditions of the roads and the weather always changing, many older people do not like to drive. Therefore, the COA (676-2368) is in need of more drivers, for both local and out of town trips. Please give them a call if you can help.

Since we are closed on the last Friday of the month, we have moved our monthly birthday dinner to Friday, Dec. 3. We will be serving roast beef, and will be having live music before the meal and will have BINGO afterwards. Our next evening meal will be on Thursday, Dec. 9, and we will be serving roast pork from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

We recently received a donation of potatoes, and we would like to say thank you for them. Also, thanks to Lyle for arranging the donation for us, and for delivering them to us. The local churches are still hosting “The Shepherds Table” here on Tuesday nights. Please join them if you would like a home cooked meal and some fellowship. I decided to try the meal last week, and it was wonderful.

Our menu for the following week is: Fri. (26) we are closed, Mon. (29) is liver and onions, Wed. (Dec 1) is sausage and sauerkraut, and Fri. (3) is December’s roast beef birthday dinner. Other than the evening meal, all of our meals are served at noon. Come and join us.
