Arlee

The Arlee Senior Center will hold its Annual Meeting on Saturday, Jan. 8 after the 6 p.m. meal at the center. The Jan. 8 meal is oven chicken, potatoes and gravy, fruit salad, carrots, buns and cake. All seniors are encouraged to attend and to consider becoming a board member. The board meets on the second Monday of each month prior to the noon meal at the center.

The Christmas meal will be on Sat., Dec. 25, from 2-4 p.m. The Arlee community is invited to celebrate the holiday with the seniors. Turkey, dressing, ham, and all the fixins’ will be served. The regularly scheduled lunch on Friday, Dec. 24, is cancelled. No need for reservations. Call 726-3213 if you have any questions.

With Cathy Corrigan: We would like to send our condolences to Mary our quilting lady on the passing of her husband Rod Arden. Our love and thoughts are with you.

This is the time of year when we all reflect on the things that we are thankful for. Here at the center we would like to thank all of those who volunteer in one way or another. We couldn’t do this without your help. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Wanda, Kelli, Kaye, Jo, Mary, Betty and Cathy would like to wish you all a very happy, healthy and joyous Christmas.

Now for some card scores. Bridge scores for Dec. 10 were Max Neeley first and Marilyn Greiner second and Dec. 14 had Fred Sego first and Chuck Aker second. The pinochle winners for Dec. 16 were Ward Grilley and Dwight Graham tied for first and Pete Daniels second. Those getting double pinochles were Grace Schumacher and Pete Daniels.

Luncheon menu Dec. 16 through Dec. 22: Thursday (12/23) hot beef sandwich; Friday (12/24) CLOSED; Monday (12/27) beef barley soup and sandwich; Tuesday (12/28) spare ribs w/sauerkraut and apples; Wednesday (12/29) liver and onions.

St. Ignatius

The St. Ignatius Senior Citizens Center celebrated with its holiday meal last Friday with nearly 60 people in attendance. On Friday, Jan. 14, seniors are encouraged to bring in items and/or stories of days gone by for a “remember when session.” The center will be closed for business Dec. 24 and 31, but a party celebrating Verna Krantz’s 90th birthday will be held in the center on Dec. 24.

The following are the activities at the center for the rest of December. Bingo is played after almost every lunch.
