POLSON — A Polson man is being held at the Lake County Detention Center on $100,000 bond after allegations of child abuse.

Christopher Hunstman, 28, of Polson, is charged with aggravated assault, criminal endangerment and assault on a minor, all felonies, after a 3-month-old infant was found to have injuries consistent with being shaken, according to a press release from the Polson Police department.

Polson police were called to St. Joseph’s Hospital on Feb. 9 after a report of suspected child abuse on the infant, who appeared to have been shaken.

The infant was flown to Spokane, Wash., where she was in stable condition.

As of Tuesday morning, PPD Asst. Chief John Stevens said the infant has returned from the hospital and “is doing well.”

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office, PPD, Lake County Attorney’s Office and the Department of Family Services worked on the alleged abuse investigation, the release said.
